Overview

Jim is a partner and senior business trial lawyer with SEB.

 

Jim has more than 25 years of trial and appellate experience in a broad range of commercial areas involving breach of contract, partnership disputes, fiduciary duties, non-compete agreements, trade secrets, professional negligence, fraud, and other unlawful business practices. In addition, Jim handles litigation involving trusts and estates. He has significant experience representing creditors in difficult collection matters.

 

As both plaintiff’s and defendant’s counsel, Jim has represented large and small companies of all kinds, including banks, hospitals, insurance brokerage firms, medical groups, and real estate development and service firms. He also represents officers and directors, doctors, and other professionals and executives in employment and corporate litigation.

 

Before joining SEB, Jim was a name partner and head of the trial practice group for a boutique Atlanta law firm specializing in litigation and healthcare law.

 

Jim has been named several times as one of Georgia’s “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend magazine. He is a certified arbitrator with the American Health Lawyers Association.

Affiliations

Jim is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Old Warhorse Lawyer’s Club.

Activities

Jim has served on the Board of Directors of The Preschool at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and on the Alumni Board of The Lovett School. He has also served as a board member and president of his neighborhood civic association.
